Privacy Policy

Plain-language summary. We aim to collect as little as possible.

The short version

Chippu is free and built for children, so we keep data collection to the absolute minimum. You can use Chippu with no account and without giving us any personal information. We don't show ads, we don't record sessions, and we never sell data. We follow global child-privacy norms, including the U.S. COPPA and the EU's GDPR-K.

Playing without an account

No sign-up is needed to learn. When a child plays, their lesson progress is saved only in their own browser (local storage on the device). It never reaches our servers and we can't see it. Clearing the browser clears that progress.

If you choose to create an account

An account is optional — its only purpose is to save progress across devices. If a parent creates one, we collect:

  • An email address (to sign in and recover the account)
  • An optional phone number, only if used for sign-in
  • A child's nickname (chosen by the parent — never a legal name) and optional age band
  • Lesson progress, so it can sync between devices

We do not collect children's real names, addresses, photos, or contact details, and there is no payment information because Chippu is free.

Analytics

We use only privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (page-view counts with IP anonymization) to understand which lessons are used. There is no session replay, no heatmapping, and no advertising or cross-site tracking.

Your choices

  • Use Chippu fully anonymously — just don't create an account.
  • If you made an account, delete it (and all associated data) any time from your Profile.
  • Email us to ask what data we hold or to have it removed.
